Halloween at School

So Halloween is not a traditional holiday for Korea to celebrate but I think most of the English schools make an effort to have fun with the kids.  Also the kids love dressing up.  So at my school we had a different activity in each classroom and the kids spent time in each classroom.  Here are some pics of us all!

Me and Yoony first thing in the morning!

Poor Thomas here was so scared of Halloween.  We decorated the main hall and he refused to go in there at all.  When I got to school in the morning he was on the sidewalk with his mom and when he saw me he just cried because he was so scared to go to school today!  He finally calmed down some but never did go into Wonderhall.

Nic and Qasem scared the kids all morning but the kids finally got used to them.

The one and only Harry Potter and then he turned into a zombie

Pink Amy.  She never looks at me for pics so this is special!

The teachers!

I found a video on Youtube, "The Skeleton Dance" and the kids loved it so here they are dancing to it.

Sometimes the excitement is too much for some kids.  Edy fell asleep in the middle of Wonderhall and he was really out.  Everyone left and he never knew.

Here we sat him up and he was still fast asleep.  When he finally did wake he saw no one was there and had a shocked looked.  It was really funny.  Occasionally we lose one at the end of the day!

Some of the decorations that scared Thomas!

These are some of my elementary kids.  Sharon, Esther, Alice and Hayley.

Ivy 2A class.

Grace.  This is my star student when it comes to plays.  She memorizes the whole story and is able to help the others with their parts.  She makes my life a bit easier.

Here we are trying to get the kids to start dancing but the elementary kids do not like to dance like the kinder kids.

Here we started having the kids arm wrestle.  First is Jisoo and some kid I don't know.  Jisoo is the son of one of the teachers here and I told her Jisoo didn't want to and she said, "Yeah, he is weak."  Here he is finally trying and yup, he is weak, but a good sport.

Here is Annie and a girl I don't know and they were actually a good match for each other.

So we had a really fun Halloween and the kids loved it.  It was a long, tiring day though.  At least it felt like Halloween!

  1. Everyone looks amazing in their costumes (including you!!) - I love it - are all the classes named after US colleges (Harvard, UCLA??) - why do they do that? It's pretty interesting - anyway, adorable kids - makes me wish I had "real" students instead of just the "virtual" ones (I know they are real, but I mean really in front of me in a class instead of in cyberspace somewhere!!)

  2. I have no idea why they named the classrooms after universities! I found it weird when I first saw it too. All the classes are: Princeton, Harvard, Oxford, Columbia, MiT and UCLA.
