Lunar New Year Activity Day

The time came again for the Lunar New Year so we had to have an activity day!  The kids are always so cute in their hanbok's.  I am sure I have said this before but activity days are super tiring but so much fun!

Emily looking super cute in her hanbok!

Getting ready for the day.

So one traditional thing they do is the kids have learned a certain way to bow and on this holiday when they bow this way we give them a gift.  Usually money.  So we gave them 1 USD.  Something to be different.  I was asked to give Princeton their dollars and the kids had to bow and then I told them something positive like "Good Luck in first grade" or "You have been a great student!"  The boys went first!!

And my girls!

Amy from pre-school looking so cute!

Leo and Andy looking so happy!! Geeze!

Now time for the activities and I was in charge of making dakji.  Folded paper into a square shape and you hit other dakjis trying to flip it over!

My crazy but amazingly awesome class!!

Christina being Christina and trying to get a good picture but this is what we got!!

I have no idea what is going on here but I love our faces and how we are looking at each other. :o)

Time to play!

Harvard time.  So this dakji was not to hard to make but the kids could not do it.  So here I had Harvard class and we tried to make it but it was not successful.  Luckily I had planned ahead for this failure and made some white ones before hand and they got to decorate those with stickers!!

Mike and Joy working hard!

They did try really hard to make them on their own!!

Oh James!  So clueless but so cute and fun!

The girls: Belle and Jasmine!

Pretty sure I am shocked here cause I just succeeded at flipping one of the squares over!!

MiT time!  Big class and great class!!

Just so dang cute!!!

Working hard trying to make them! Again hard for this class!

Success!!!

Cutest Lehyun!!

Lucy and Leo!!  A rare smile from Lucy!

And now Columbia!  Chris and Kenneth playing so seriously!

The Columbia girls!  I loved these girls!

Another great activity day and it was so fun because Emily got to Korea right after school!  Love all these kids so much and they are so dang cute!

Some Random Times

Just catching up on some single random pictures.

First we have the January Birthday party for Yejee and Sam!

Cool view of the Han River from the subway in the cold cold winter.

My very silly Princeton class. Going to finish the year with a class of 8!

So on February 2 we went to a bar to listen to some bands and at one point this guy came into the bar and Lauren was like, "He looks like Russell Crowe" and wow did he!  Then he turned out to be in the second band that was playing.  He was really good and Kelley even bought the CD for me for my birthday!

I really liked this guy so I had him sign the CD and I look like an excited idiot but this is the only picture I have!

The girls!!  Great night with Justine, Lauren, Kelley and Georgina (New teacher at my school)!!

Not such a fin this Julian left for England and he was the best possible co-worker a girl could ask for.  he has been here pretty much since I started and is such a great guy!  Here are pics of the kids saying goodbye!

School: Field Trip and Grad Photos

The seven year olds get to go to this English Village before Graduation and I am not really sure why because their English is way to advanced for this place but they had fun.  So Kelley and  got to go and pretty much just watch while these other foreign teachers did everything!

First they got to go to a pretend shopping market and they each received a shopping list and had to find it.

Next was a magic show and they kids loved that.  Here Jessica got to dress in the cape and hat!

Then Chris!

All our seven year olds!!

Last class was art and they sort of got to make candles and the kids mostly colored!  Luke an Ryan are handfuls but I love them!

Then we spent about 20 minutes doing photo ops and the kids were CRAZY!!

The day after the field trip I got to go help the kids get their grad pictures taken.  Wow do Koreans know how to take some weird pictures.  First the kids did a grad picture in a gown like thing then they went downstairs and there are all these weird, different set ups to have some pictures done.

Jessica and Sally are ready!

Being farly good waiting their turn!

The dress we rented for the girls and they all took turns wearing it and posing in different places.

Weird flower room!

The boys were dressed so appropriate for this and they look like they could be on safari!

Maria waiting with the coats!

Sam took this picture for Yejee and I!

I was supposed to get some pictures of Chris and this one I thought was pretty cute!

And then with his girlfriend!

Jennifer looking cute as always!

Again Chris and it turned out pretty cute I have to say!

Getting tired and ready to go!

I love my kids so much and I can't believe I have to leave them again!
