Deoksugung

I went to look for a palace that has a changing of the guards and there was a lot of things to look at in this area.  I toured the palace first and then saw the ceremony.  Then I walked around and found some cool stuff!

The Deoksugung Palace.

I think this is City Hall but I am really not sure.

I went during the Chuseok holiday and they had a special art thing showing some traditional instruments.

There was some entertainment as well!

The main throne for ceremonial occasions.

Love the coloring.

My traveling bear had his first outing in Korea and these girls looked so pretty.

The guards to the palace.

The entrance.

A neat building across the street.

Photo op!

The changing of the guard ceremony!

The other palace I found but no idea its name.

A ceiling in the entrance to the palace.

A memorial to the Korean war.

Cool looking police car, thing!

King Sejong the great.  There is a whole museum to him underground which is my next post!

A couple neat looking displays for being green.

BBQ by the River

I went to a BBQ on the river with two teachers from my school and one of their girlfriend's, Lauren.  It was a really nice day and we just sat in the sun and Nic cooked a great linner!

This is the spot we stayed at, next to a small waterfall in the river. (You see Lauren and Qasem)

Fishing is very popular here and Qasem even made a line with a stick but never caught anything.

This guy got a little fish.  No idea who he is.

Our picnic and Nic (in orange) is starting to cook.

Nap time,

Lauren trying her hand at fishing.

We had a really fun day and enjoyed pretty much the last nice day before Fall here.

Seoul Zoo

So we finally had a nice day and I got to go to the zoo.  It was a huge place and the built the zoo kind of outside of Seoul and in the hills so youwalk up and down hills all day.  Lots of neat animals and there is even a dolphin show which I did not get to see but I will go again and there is an animal nursery with all the babies which I also missed because by the time I found it, it was closed.  But you can think of almost any animal and they have it.  Here are a few pics I took.
This is what you see when you are off the subway.

The map of the zoo!

So green and pretty on the walk to the entrance to the zoo.
