Pet Cafe take 3 and Hongdae

Those of you who know me even just a little know I love animals, especially dogs.  So whenever I get a chance to go to a Pet Cafe in Seoul I go.  This time I got to go with my friend Melani and we had an awesome afternoon in Hongdae.  I love the chance to see any dog in Korea and this place allows me to pet them, sit with them and watch the cute puppies play.  Here are a few pictures from another great visit to the cafe.

The table we sat at there was a corgi sleeping in the table along with a Yorkie.  They were happy to see us.

This little guy was sleeping in the seat and slept there the whole time.  He cuddled up next to me and just laid there until his owner came to get him.  Turns out this pet cafe is a grooming place, boarding and playing with random people.  Awesome idea someone had to make this place.

We loved seeing the hair cut on this guy.  Mel liked his fur boot look.

The old poodle is still there and still cute.

This Bedlington terrier came to visit and jumped on the table then stepped off onto my lap and went to sleep. Mel called him an alien dog and he did have a crazy hair cut but he was also really, really soft!!

The cute golden who takes your check when you are done!

So this guy was crazy enough to bring food into the cafe.  I really don't know what he was thinking but both him and his girlfriend has taco things and of course they became all the dogs favorites.  I think I saw a dog take a bite out of the girlfriends taco.  They had dogs all over them and this was a funny picture of the dogs all looking so intently at his food.

My super cute buddy.

And Mel's buddy.

This terrier made it around and just wanted to cuddle with everyone.

The cute Pomeranians who were playing with each other.  The people with the tacos brought in three of these guys and even though they were the smallest dogs in the place they ran around liked they owned it.

After the Pet cafe Mel and I went looking for a camera shop she had wanted to find and we did find it finally.  We also found a Charlie Brown cafe.  It was a really cute place and had the characters all over the place.  I was not able to take pictures of their desserts but the little cakes had like powered sugar faces of some of the characters.

Linus was really cute so I had to take a picture.

Random, cool looking car.

This is just a really neat function my camera has and it takes all the color out and it really likes like a sketch someone drew.

More awesome times in Korea.  I really like going to the same places now because I am going on the unbeaten paths to see new things and there are so many things to see in this one city of Seoul.  Even a year of living here I will never get to see all of Seoul.  I love traveling and I always have liked just going somewhere and if I see a new path of unknown direction I like taking it.  Now that I have been here so long I am able to do this more often and feel comfortable I will make it home again!  Only 2 1/2 months left and I am doing my best to see as much of Korea as I can. There are so many things to love about this country and I am so happy I choose this place.  Most people who are travelers never even think of going to Korea and how I picked it I really don't know but am happy I did.

Cute School Pics

My homeroom kids are my absolute favorite class.  We have so much fun and I love them all.  At the new school we get to take them outside to a park about once a week and this time they had been doing so well in class I got them all ice cream.  OMG they were so excited!!  I walked them down to a small store and they got to pick what they wanted and they just loved it.  we then walked over to the park an I had them all sit and eat their ice cream.  I love that we are having much nicer weather so we can go outside.  I also like that our school lets us take the kids outside.  I have some friends at other schools and they can't take the kids anywhere!

Sunny, Luke, Yejee (the teachers call her my daughter) and Christina

Eric and Sam

I don't like to have one favorite but she would have to be it!!
Yejee

Christina.  She is another very cute and loving student.  Almost every morning she comes in and hugs my leg to say good morning!

So cute.  Eric, Yejee and Christina.

Sam, Luke and Jessica

A favorite photo of mine.  Next to our new building they are rebuilding the building and they had mirrors outside.  Great photo op.

A different day

So I had my first cooking day and we made these Cookie Pops where two cookies had chocolate in between and then dip in chocolate.  It was a nice small class to teach!  here from left: Benny, Amy, Qasem (helping me), Sam and Jasmine.

So one of our Korean teachers, Tracy, moved to a new apartment and made dinner for us all.  She has an awesome apartment and made a delicious dinner.  She made us rice paper wrapped around some meat and vegetables   I didn't think I would like it but man it was good!!!  She lives on the 18th floor and has an amazing view of Guri.  I don't think you can see it in this picture but the Guri tower is to the left.

Our lovely dinner.

Qasem enjoying the very comfortable couch and giving Nic directions to the apartment.

Some other teachers and staff at school.

Her beautiful living room and dining room.  Her place had three bedrooms and one bath.  There was also a kim chi fridge on the porch and it is really for only kim chi.

More great adventures in Korea and I have been told recently I need to write more in my blog.  I am more of a picture person than words but I will give it a try.  I have about 11 weeks left in Korea and I am excited to go hoe but I have made such a wonderful life here it will be hard to go.  I love my kids to death.  I may be tired and not want to work but when the kids show up they say "Good morning Erin Teacher" and some hug my leg.  I love their smiles and they always make my days worth being there.

Yangsu/ Hongdae and River cruise

My friends and I love exploring and this weekend we picked a subway stop that had a lake picture and hoped to go their to fish and lay in the sun.  We saw the lake but then for some reason walked away from it to find something else.  But it ended up being an awesome time and we were way out in the country of Korea.  We saw some really cool things.

Pretty flowers!

Qasem

Rice fields.  Before this day I had never been so close to rice fields.  So many tadpoles and snails.

Qasem found a mysterious berry and luckily no one ate it!

Found a nice spot to eat some lunch!

When we finally did go back to where we could see the lake we found a closed down hotel and lucky for us the doors were open so we got to go in and explore.

Inside

And we made it to the roof.  Great views.

Qasem taking our pic from below.

Lauren and I left the boys to go fishing and we found this really cool garden place.

We loved finding this river because we were so hot just putting our feet in the water felt soooo good!!

Neat beetle.

That hotel we went in!

They had a small area where you could play some traditional Korean games!  We weren't very good at all.

And of course puppies!!

After a day in the sun we went out to meet Cass for dinner and a Han river cruise.  On our way to the boat we had a firework show!!

Queen of the World

And always end the night with norebang!

We missed the last buses home and the train stopped so we found a guesthouse to stay in and it turned out to be the  #1 Guesthouse/hostel place to stay in Seoul.

Yes!!  All in one day!  Very long day but so worth it.
